Church of the Sacred Heart

The 600-strong polish community congregation took over the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Watlington Street 30 years ago when it was due for demolition. They restored it and have been looking after it ever since. Recent restoration work has been carried out on the 150-year-old building and now new work must begin on the spire which is becoming dangerous.
